Before shipping a crystal skull order, agree on how each piece will be identified, protected and checked. Request current product views, discuss protection around projecting details, and confirm the packed shipment information and damage-reporting procedure. This checklist helps you specify your requirements; the packing method for your order must be agreed in the quotation.
Start with the actual pieces in the order
A mixed order can contain different shapes, sizes and weights. Send the selected SKUs and quantities, then ask how the pieces being offered will be matched to that list. Catalogue photographs show references; current photographs or video help you review the actual pieces before approving the order.
Ask for views of the face, back, base and any detail you particularly care about. Agree on visible characteristics such as pattern placement or surface appearance before packing, so there is a clear record to refer to when the shipment arrives. If you need individual labels for receiving or resale, discuss their wording and where they should be placed.
Discuss protection around the shape
Compare a classic skull with an alien or winged reference in our shape guide. Their different outlines raise different packing questions. Ask how the chosen packing will limit movement, separate pieces from one another and avoid loading pressure onto projecting details.
- Projecting details: identify wings, extended profiles or other areas that need particular attention.
- Surfaces: ask how contact with other pieces and packing materials will be managed.
- Mixed sizes and weights: discuss the arrangement inside the shipment, rather than assuming all SKUs can use identical packing.
- Retail presentation: distinguish any display or gift packaging you request from protection needed for transport.
Ask the supplier to propose a method for the actual selection. Photos of a proposed method can help you assess it, but they are not a guarantee against transport damage. Any special packing, individual boxes or labelling should be included in the agreed scope and price.
Agree on the evidence before the cartons close
Discuss which photographs and packing records can be provided before dispatch. A useful request covers the identified pieces before wrapping, the protection around important details, the arrangement inside a carton and the closed, labelled cartons. Confirm what will be available and at which stage; do not assume a particular photo service is included.
| Check | Information to agree |
|---|---|
| Piece identification | SKUs, quantities and any individual labels or reference photos. |
| Protection | Proposed method, separation between pieces and attention to projecting details. |
| Shipment record | Carton count, dimensions, packed weights and a packing list matching the order. |
| Delivery arrangements | Destination, shipping option, agreed responsibilities and reporting contacts. |
Product weight excludes packing. For the distinction between catalogue measurements and freight information, see our size, weight and shipping guide. Final carton information and delivery arrangements belong in the order confirmation.
Prepare your receiving team
Before delivery, confirm the reporting deadline, contact details and evidence required if something arrives damaged or is missing. Ask whether insurance is available, what it covers and who handles a claim. These details depend on the agreed shipment and terms; this article does not set a claims policy.
On arrival, record the outer carton condition and labels, keep the packing materials, and document the condition of the pieces as you unpack. Match quantities to the packing list. If you find a problem, report it promptly through the agreed process and keep the packaging until you receive instructions. Photos or video may support a review but do not automatically establish coverage or a refund entitlement.
Send a focused packing request
Include your selected SKUs and quantities, delivery country and postcode, whether you need individual retail boxes or labels, and any shape-specific concerns. Ask for the proposed protection, available pre-dispatch records, packed shipment details and written reporting arrangements.
